Energy Efficiency Products Program

Member driven and programmed to save!

Together We Save

EEA and its wholesale power supplier Tri-State Generation and Transmission pay credits to members with active accounts who install qualifying electric water heaters, electric heating systems and/or energy efficient motors, commercial energy efficiency lighting upgrades, and Energy Star® rated appliances. Requests need to be submitted within 120 days of purchase. Contact EEA at 970-565-4444 or 800-709-3726 for more information.

EEA’s Rules and Regulations require you to advise EEA when making any material changes or increases in your connected load. Call EEA Engineering at (970) 564-4406 to schedule an assessment before you purchase your new equipment. Rebates may be denied if you refuse to install required service upgrades. 

Appliance and recycling rebates are credited to your electric bill.  Please allow at least two billing cycles for the rebate to appear. EEA reserves the right to inspect the installation of any rebated appliance.  Please review program details below. 

Qualified Energy Star® Appliances

To qualify for rebates, your appliances must be on the list of official Energy Star® qualifying appliances. Please review the list before purchasing your new appliance. 

  • Refrigerators (7.75 cubic feet or greater)

  • Freezers (7.75 cubic feet or greater)

  • Clothes Washers

  • Dishwashers

  • Clothes Dryers

Outdoor Power Equipment Rebates.

Have you have been thinking about purchasing a new electric lawn mower or other electric or battery powered yard tool?

Complete the below on-line application, upload your receipt and a photo of the box your new tool came in, within 120 days of purchase.

Refrigerator/Freezer Recycling Rebates

New program updated January 1, 2021.

Take your old unit to one of the below locations:

  • Bob's Place - 1404 E Main St, Cortez, CO

  • Montezuma County Landfill - 26100 Road F, Cortez, CO

  • San Juan County Landfill - 50 W Landfill Road, Blanding, UT 

  1. Pay the recycle fee.

  2. Complete the application on the link below and upload your receipt within 120 day of date on recycle receipt.

  3. EEA will credit your Empire Electric account $60 per unit. Please allow 3 to 5 weeks for credit.

  4. Limit 2 units per year per member.
